GLENLIVET HILL TREK TOURS

Hilltop Trek - You will be thrilled and excited by the climb past the grouse butts and Lochan of Carn Liath overlooking the Glenlivet Distillery and onto the hilltop of Carn Daimh. We will take your breath away with history, scenery, wilderness and wildlife. Let us transport you into an area of peace, tranquillity and solitude where you can relax within our custom awning. Enjoy one of our delicious picnics along with a glass of complementary bubbly, or a complimentary glass of The Glenlivet whisky, whilst we aptly travel the Whisky Smugglers Trail where numerous illicit stills were sited years ago, passing the site of the original Glenlivet Distillery.

Summer Sunrise Trek - We will transport your party before dawn to the summit of Carn Liath to watch the sunrise over the mountains.  Weather permitting, we will park at the hilltop where your party can relax within our custom awning as the sun rises over the hills. From Carn Liath, we will then descend on to Blairfindy moor, and pick up the track to Carn Daimh, starting our ascent to the view point there. We then descend back on to Blairfindy Moor and return shadowing the Speyside Way to Blairfindy car park.

Summer Sunset Trek - Transports your party mid evening to the summit of Carn Liath to watch the sunset over the mountains. Weather permitting, we will park at the hilltop, where your party can relax in our custom awning and partake in a complimentary nightcap of The Glenlivet whisky, before we descend into the twilight and return to Blairfindy. This, due to impending darkness, is a shorter tour and would be charged as a half day trek.

Purple Heather Trek - In late August into September, the Scottish highlands are a blaze of purples and mauves offering the most spectacular and evocative of sights. On our Purple Heather Trek we transport you through low lying fields onto the shoulder of Carn Liath, we continue along the valley onto Blairfindy Moor where the heather is in full bloom and begin the climb to Carn Daimh. We stop briefly at the summit of Carn Daimh (1620 ft) to take in the stunning view before we descend and head up over the summit of Carn Liath overlooking The Glenlivet Distillery before returning to Blairfindy where we stop at the recently renovated Smugglers’ Bothy for a traditional picnic (optional), before we return to Blairfindy car park.

April 29th - 3rd May 2010.
